My Teaching Philosophy
As a elementary teacher with 23 years experience, my approach to children is simple. I meet and get to know each child with a kind and caring approach. My goal is to get to know each child better and discover their interests, likes, dislikes, passions in learning and in life. I also believe in sharing personal oral stories of my travels and adventures as a teacher in different countries and different Canadian provinces.

This hands-on, inclusive, caring approach allows the learning process with each child to unfold naturally and organically. In the end I design and present learning activities (with input from the student) that are engaging, fun, and in their zone of proximal development. After that it is important to let the magic happen... wait, pause and listen to what the student(s) have to say and where we need to next on the learning journey.
